Introduction

Pakistan’s land area is 770,875 square kilometers and the land of Pakistan is covered with beautiful mountains, deserts and with massive Indus river valley.

Pakistan also has the second tallest peak on the earth named K2 and is placed in Karakoram range is 8,611 meter taller and the most prominent peak of Pakistan.

Pakistan’s area of land is divided into four provinces like Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan. Pakistan also has four federally administrative territories; (FATA), Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jummo, Kashmir and Islamabad capital territory (ICT).

Punjab

Punjab is the province of Pakistan with the area of 205,344km2 and the population of Punjab is around 110,000,000 as of 2021. It is considered as the largest province of Pakistan in population.

Largest cities of Punjab are Lahore and Faisalabad. Faisalabad is considered as one of the most popular industrial cities of Punjab

Punjab itself is considered as the one of the most industrialised provinces of Pakistan and the poverty level of Punjab is less than other provinces. 40 percent of the population of Punjab is living in urban areas and is considered as one of the most urbanized regions of South Asia.

Balochistan

Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan by land and its total area is 347,190km2.

Quetta is the capital of Balochistan and also the largest city of Balochistan. The main languages spoken are balochi, Hazari, Brahui, Pashto.About Developments in Balochistan

Balochistan is situated in the southwest of Pakistan and it is connected with the borders of Afghanistan and Iran. It is richly gifted with natural resources and has minerals like sulfur, coal, iron, chromite, iron ,ore, barytes ,marble, and limestone.

It is blessed with the largest reserves of gold and copper in the world and they also have the largest reserves of oil.

If the government makes the proper arrangement to use these natural resources, it can be the richest province of Pakistan, and it is also helpful for our economic growth.

The Pakistani government plans on developing the Gwadar city which is located in Balochistan with the help of the Chinese government.

Gwadar can be the biggest and richest city of Pakistan in the upcoming years. Gwadar has a deep sea port in the Indian ocean, is perfect for trade and is also a geographically suited place for other countries to import and export their products. Gwadar can be the golden sparrow for Pakistan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is one of the beautiful provinces of Pakistan. barley field, wheat, agriculture-1684052.jpgBefore 2010,it was known as North-west-Frontier Province(NWFP) but after that it was changed to Khyber pakhtun khwa. It is considered as the third largest province of Pakistan by its population and economy.

The capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Peshawar. The total population of that province was 35.53 million (2017) and it is 17.9% of Pakistan’s total population with the total area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 101,741km2.

Sindh

Sindh is the fourth province of Pakistan and it is placed in the south eastern parts of the country. It is considered as the third largest province of Pakistan by its total area of 140,911km2.

It remains the second largest province due to its population. The main languages spoken in Sindh are Sindhi and Urdu. It touches the east borders of the Indian state Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The capital city of Sindh is Karachi, the Economic hub of Pakistan. Sindh is gifted with two sea ports like Port Qasim and Port of Karachi.

Forests and wildlife in Pakistan:

There are many types of forests in Pakistan like changa manga forest, littoral and swamp forest, tropical thorn forest, tropical dry deciduous forest, Subtropical forest, subtropical pine forest, Himalayan moist temperate forest, Himalayan dry temperate forest, alpine forest.

Indian leopard, Leopard cat, yellow-throated marten, Asian palm civet and red giant flying squirrel are found in Ayubia National park which is located in Abbottabad district.

Markhor, snow leopard, Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan snow cock, Himalayan black bear, Siberian ibex, Himalayan musk deer and long tailed marmot and Himalayan goral are found in forest of Chitral and Mansehra.

Most forests and wild species are found in mountainous areas and northern areas of Pakistan.
