Petrol Price in Pakistan Remains Unchanged, Diesel Sees Rs 3 Cut in September 2025

ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has released the latest update on petrol and diesel prices for the next fortnight, effective from 1st September 2025. According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, petrol prices will remain unchanged, while diesel prices have been reduced by Rs 3 per litre.

Updated Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan

As per the official notification:

  • Petrol (Super): Rs 264.61 per litre (no change)
  • High-Speed Diesel: Rs 269.99 per litre (reduced by Rs 3)
  • Light Diesel Oil: Rs 159.76 per litre (reduced by Rs 2.40)
  • Kerosene Oil: Rs 176.81 per litre (reduced by Rs 1.46)

This decision follows the government’s earlier move on August 16, 2025, when petrol prices were kept stable, while diesel witnessed a major cut of Rs 12.84 per litre.

LPG Prices Also Reduced

In addition to petrol and diesel, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a reduction in LPG prices for September 2025. The new price has been set at Rs 214.20 per kg, after a decrease of Rs 1.17 per kg. Similarly, the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder (11.8 kg) has come down by Rs 14.36, making the new price Rs 2,527 compared to the earlier Rs 2,541.36.

Relief for Consumers Amid Global Oil Trends

The reduction in diesel and LPG prices comes in line with global oil market trends and aims to provide financial relief to households and businesses across Pakistan. With transportation and energy costs directly linked to fuel prices, the recent adjustment is expected to slightly ease inflationary pressures on the economy.
