Nadra Counters to be Established in All Karachi Union Councils: Mayor

Mayor Murtaza Wahab Announces Major Public Facilitation Plan

KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) counters will be set up across all union councils of the city to enhance public access to registration and identity services.

The announcement was made during the inauguration ceremony of the newly renovated Nadra Registration Centre at Landhi’s Babar Market on Friday.

New Nadra Centre Planned for Lyari

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Wahab stated that a feasibility report will be prepared immediately for the construction of a Nadra centre at Lyari’s historic Kakri Ground. This step is aimed at ensuring that citizens of all areas, including underdeveloped localities, have access to efficient services.

Development of Mega Nadra Centres in Karachi

The mayor also revealed that mega registration centres are under construction in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulberg, and Surjani Town. These facilities will cater to a large number of citizens and help reduce crowding at existing offices.

Upgraded Services at Landhi Nadra Centre

The Landhi Nadra Centre has been fully renovated and modernized to improve public service delivery. Mayor Wahab and Nadra Sindh Director General Amir Ali Khan inaugurated the centre, which now includes:

  • Expansion of one-window counters from four to seven.
  • Seating capacity increased to 120 people.
  • Separate washrooms for men and women.
  • Wheelchair-friendly access for disabled applicants.
  • Safe drinking water facilities for visitors.

Nadra Sindh DG Highlights City-Wide Upgradation

Director General Nadra Sindh Amir Ali Khan highlighted that renovation of five centres in Karachi has already been completed. He added that the ongoing upgradation drive includes 21 centres across the city, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing delays.

Nadra Mobile App to Provide Long-Term Ease

Acknowledging initial difficulties faced by citizens while using the new Nadra mobile application, the DG explained that once fully functional, the app will provide reliable and long-term digital services, enabling people to access Nadra facilities from the comfort of their homes
