Indus River Water Levels Recede at Guddu and Sukkur Barrages

Indus River water levels receding at Guddu Barrage in 2025

KARACHI: The Sindh Rain and Flood Emergency Monitoring Cell confirmed on Saturday that the water level in the Indus River is gradually receding at Guddu Barrage, with similar conditions being observed at Sukkur Barrage.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), the Indus River is currently experiencing a low flood situation at Guddu Barrage and a medium flood at Sukkur and Kotri barrages.

At Guddu Barrage, water inflow has been recorded at 319,200 cusecs, while the outflow stands at 290,800 cusecs. Similarly, Sukkur Barrage has witnessed an inflow of 420,500 cusecs against an outflow of 367,100 cusecs. Downstream at Kotri Barrage, the inflow is 341,600 cusecs, with an outflow of 319,700 cusecs.

The FFD further reported that the Sutlej River remains in medium flood at Ganda Singh Wala and Sulemanki headworks, while a low flood is being observed at Islam Headworks. All other rivers across the country are flowing below low flood levels, based on the latest water data shared by the division.
