Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the second phase of the Green Tractor Scheme 2025 . As a result , bringing hope and relief to thousands of farmers across the province. Additionaly , the highly anticipated tractor scheme aims to modernize agriculture in Punjab through financial support and mechanization.

Green Tractor Scheme Draw Results Announced

In a transparent draw held on Sunday, 9,500 tractors were allotted to successful applicants. Adding a personal touch, CM Maryam Nawaz congratulated several winners by making phone calls during the ceremony.

Eligibility and Subsidy Details

Under the scheme, farmers owning seven acres or more are eligible to apply for tractors ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower. The government has announced the following subsidies:

  • High-power tractors (75–125 HP): Rs. 1 million subsidy
  • Medium-power tractors (50–65 HP): Rs. 500,000 subsidy

Overall, the Punjab government will distribute 20,000 tractors in this phase to support farmers and increase agricultural productivity.

Massive Farmer Response to the Scheme

The Green Tractor Scheme 2025 received an overwhelming response with 734,000 applications. Out of these, 282,000 farmers were found eligible for the balloting process. Significantly, 98% of applicants opted for locally manufactured tractors, showcasing farmers’ trust in Pakistan’s domestic industry and boosting the local economy.

Maryam Nawaz’s Vision for Agriculture

Speaking at the ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the initiative reflects her government’s commitment to empowering farmers, ensuring they have access to modern agricultural machinery. She highlighted that the project will pave the way for sustainable farming, higher crop yields, and economic growth in Punjab.

In addition to the Green Tractor Scheme, CM Maryam Nawaz also launched the Punjab Wheat Incentive Program, which includes the distribution of 1,000 free tractors to wheat farmers through a digital balloting system. The first tractor was awarded to Kausar Parveen, a female farmer from Bahawalnagar. Other winners, including Muhammad Iqbal from Jhang and Salman Ahmed from Mandi Bahauddin, were also congratulated personally by the Chief Minister.
