New Mega Centres Announced
KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has confirmed the launch of three new mega centres in Karachi by March 2026. The centres will be established in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gulberg, and Surjani Town to provide citizens with easy access to registration and identification services.
Announcement at Karachi University
The announcement was made by Nadra Director General Sindh, Aamir Ali Khan, during a programme at the University of Karachi. He stated that Nadra’s focus has always been on offering maximum convenience to the public and solving their issues through technology-driven solutions.
Technology for Public Ease
Mr Khan highlighted that Nadra is expanding digital services so citizens can complete most tasks via their mobile phones. Through the Pak ID App, users can now apply for CNIC services, renewals, and other facilities without visiting physical offices. This step saves time, reduces queues, and makes services more efficient.
Role of Youth in Awareness
He encouraged students and young people to spread awareness about Nadra’s digital facilities, ensuring that more citizens benefit from these convenient services.
Digital System for Transparency
On the occasion, Karachi University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi praised Nadra’s digital initiatives. He said digitalisation ensures transparency, curbs corruption, and provides effective tools for governance.
Services for Overseas Pakistanis
Prof Iraqi also noted that Nadra’s facilities are not limited to citizens in Pakistan. Pakistanis living abroad are also using these digital services, which reflects the importance of technology in national development and global connectivity.
